A Successful
Valor of Heroes in Bataan: Commemoration of Araw ng Kagitingan
During World War II, Bataan was a special place that contains troops from Filipinos and mixed Americans. In terms of active plans in action, Bataan was the Filipinos' first line of defense during the 1990’s thus containing valuable plans and weapons that we’re stacked to be used against the Japanese. After a while, the Japanese started to invade Bataan but the Filipino and American’s planned the scenarios and try to fend off the Japanese for as long as they could, but because of the Japanese soldiers dominance and barbarous personality in the field of battle, the Filipino’s and American have fallen. Eventually, in the dawn of April 9,
1942 after continuous battles and aggressive killing, Major general Edward P. King was forced had raise its white flag thus resulting the surrender of over 76 thousand Filipino, Chinese and the American soldiers to the Japanese. Thousands of soldiers died during the 90-mile hike due to dehydration, fatigue, starvation and various diseases before their poor souls can even reach the camp. The cruelty of the Japanese have brought terror around the world during the WWII because of its strong military base and fire power. Because of the advantage of many countries, japan has run wild throughout Asia colonizing countries to countries. After the incident of the Bataan, fortunately those brave soldier’s sacrifices we’re not in vain since on February 8th, 1945, the liberation forces of American and Filipinos eventually retook the Bataan Peninsula thus now being one of the biggest and most tragic events in the Philippines.
