Lenten Season: The Sacred beliefs of Christianity

Christianity is a religion known for taking over the majority of its population around the world. The beliefs on the existence of a God and their savior ‘Jesus’ is the sacred symbolism of the Christians. Different religions comes in different beliefs and varies through their own unique ways of praising and showing respect by the use of experiences like celebrating certain events like the Birth of the Christ, Holy Week, Lenten Season and more. Among these series of events, Lenten Season is an interesting feat that features the work of fasting, for sacred is this really safe?

The days enumerated for a Lent differs between denominations, although despite the differences, it is an event that lasts for 40 days no matter what time is the start. Lent is a period that happens before Easter and releasing all the grief and enjoying the delicious meal after fasting for a month and a half. The purpose of lent is to believe that we are repenting our sins, engraving and accepting our malice’s, simple living and self-denial committing ourselves to fasting and enduring the hardship of the Christ’s journey. Lenten Season is a 6 and a half week, and provides 40 day fasting as a religious act for Christians that imitates the fasting of Christ in the wilderness before beginning his public ministry. It is a 6 week long season in preparation for Easter where Sundays are excluded.

Most Christians join and cooperate with this events just like Ramadan and Holy Week, wherein, the biggest of respects must be shown for the God to re-enact his sufferings. Although it is an important religious activity, is fasting really safe? After continuously seeing a lot of people complain about fasting, I didn’t really see any deeper problem other than them craving and starving for a meal thus growing a concern throughout.  This Season is a very active season for change and many people throughout the world merrily join and be proud of their own. The Lenten Season is a way to grow a connection to our God, not only that but also showing our love and respect. It may be a simple act compared to what the Christ has experienced, but it is still a big contribution when considering all the challenges the Christ had to endure.

After the thorough explanation of Lenten Season, can we finally be able to conclude our thoughts? Although as dangerous as it may sound, Fasting during Lenten is just an act of being religiously inclined and devoted to religious acts and so, it is worth and safe doing it with the guidance of our guardians. It is a season for repenting our sins and showing and respecting the misery of our Jesus Christ thus concludes us that Lenten is safe and worth unless comes to the day that’ll endanger us from doing so.
