Strive for
Pregorative: I Salute Women
Discrimination,
Rape, Disgrace, Indignity, Death, Weakness and Prejudice. In an open world
where eyes stings and words ‘stabs, the reality of what women have to endure
and go through everyday has been normalized, ignored and never treated. In this
current world, Can we finally address the unfairness of genders? The
reassurance of equality?
In the present day, the pandemic has now
affected the majority of the world's population. Our freedom has been
completely shattered as a result of multiple stimulations and continuous
outbreak. Terror and horror were felt all over the world during the first month
of the pandemic, as the COVID-19 virus spread throughout the world, and massive
changes were implemented as a result. Even in the midst of the pandemic, and despite
all the commotion caused by the COVID, the trails of certain explicit deeds can
still be seen around the world. Discrimination and racism were prevalent, even
in the presence of children especially to women. We all know that women around
the world are undergoing through a massive inequality even after centuries had
passed. As the quote says “History repeats itself” which totally depicts what
is happening through the world right now.
Women around the world are being limited for their actions because of how people around the
world treat them. Countless women are being assaulted every day; Rape, Deaths and complete prejudice we’re being thrown upon them because some people believe that women are incapable and more frail and weak against men. Although generally this is true but seeing the difference between both genders, we can already see that men are supposed to be bulkier than women thus the tasks of men’s should be to protect women’s yet some of them are incapable of doing so and making life harsher than ever for women’s.
After
eras upon eras of the same situation about gender inequality, the government
has finally recognized the women’s right and empowerment which led to the
appearance of the Republic Acts as such the Republic Act 9262, Republic Act 6725 and the Republic Act of 7305 which is one of the most infamous republic
act which serves for the purpose of recognizing women for protection, safety
and preventing discrimination. This act helped a lot of women during the 1900’s
because of how bad gender inequality we’re during those eras but even still,
after centuries have passed nothing much really change because gender
inequality is still prevalent.
“Women
are weak” A phrase we sometimes often hear that don’t make a lot of sense,
women are capable if they want and need to, they have the freedom to choose
because they have the right to live peacefully. Men are stronger yes, but women
can also be strong in their own unique way. The best example of this brave
women is Elizabeth Cady Stanton which contributed and led the women’s rights
movement in the United States during the mid-to-late-19th century
that helped women against the suffrage of her kinds.
With
the help of Elizabeth Cady Stanton and her two more allies which are Susan B.
Anthony and Lucrecia Moth, they strived for greatness and planned to show the
world about women empowerment which then helped women atone freedom and now in
this present world, women can now freely live like the others away from the
past deeds.
Here are some women’s in the
present world that showed women empowerment:
Hidilyn Diaz is an Olympic champion in the field of weight0lifting showing her skills in lifting making her way to being the first ever gold-medalist of the Philippines. Because of her power and great feats, she inspired a lot of people and many people we’re happy for her accomplishment. She depicted the art of a strong women with daring heart.
Miriam Defensor Santiago was also one of the fierce women which embraces the act of showing women dominance and empowerment. She is a Filipino Scholar with a lawyer degree, judge, author and a politician who served in all three branches of the Philippine Government. Her Excellency in managing the government which piqued everyone’s eyes attaining her mastery in this field. She was known throughout the Philippines as one of the 100 most powerful women I the world during the 1997.
My mom is also one of the strongest women in the world, I respect and love her and will always respect her the way she is. She is the one who took care of me, raised me and even now still grooms and supervises me. Her being a teacher is a gift so she can spread knowledge to everyone in need for education. My mom is precious and strong because even after what we’ve been through, she endured and fought to strive for greatness.
Because
of the women’s right being held and allocated, the month for Women’s
Empowerment then came into date and now we celebrate this event every year
during the month of march which reflects to the overall women around the world
and their rights to stand and live peacefully and show the power they hold even
after the countless downright of their kind. Equality between genders can
sustain our world peace and can help grow a healthy and cooperative community
and citizens. Instead of criticizing women, we must stand and protect them, we
strive for greatness: I Salute Women.
